How do I add a new starter?

Tap the "+" button on the home screen. Enter your starter's name, select the flour type (white, whole wheat, rye, or mixed), choose a default feeding ratio, and set the status (active, refrigerated, or dormant). You can also add a photo!

How do I log a feeding?

Tap on your starter from the home screen, then tap "Feed Now". Select the feeding ratio (1:1:1, 1:2:2, or custom), optionally add temperature and health notes (smell, rise, bubbles), and tap Save. It takes just 3 taps!

How do I change feeding reminder times?

Go to Settings and tap "Notifications". You can set default feeding intervals (12 hours or 24 hours) and toggle notification sounds. Reminders automatically adjust based on your starter's status.

Can I manage multiple starters?

Yes! You can create unlimited starters. Each starter has its own feeding schedule, reminder settings, and health tracking. Perfect for maintaining white, whole wheat, and rye starters simultaneously.

What's the difference between Active, Refrigerated, and Dormant?

  • Active: Fed regularly (12-24 hours). Gets frequent reminders.
  • Refrigerated: Fed weekly. Gets weekly reminders.
  • Dormant: Not actively maintained. No reminders.

Does the app work offline?

Yes! Sourdough Starter Tracker works 100% offline. No internet connection required. All your data is stored locally on your device.

Is my data backed up to the cloud?

No. All your data is stored only on your device. If you uninstall the app, your data will be deleted. We recommend exporting your data periodically (feature coming soon).

How do I remove ads?

Go to Settings and tap "Remove Ads ($1.99)". This is a one-time purchase that permanently removes all ads from the app.

Can I delete a starter?

Yes. Long-press on a starter from the home screen, then tap "Delete". This will remove the starter and all its feeding logs permanently.

🛠 Troubleshooting

Notifications not working?

  • Make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings (Settings > Apps > Sourdough Starter Tracker > Notifications).
  • Check that your starter's status is set to "Active" or "Refrigerated" (Dormant starters don't send reminders).
  • Verify that notification sounds are enabled in the app's Settings screen.

App crashing or freezing?

  • Try restarting your device.
  • Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
  • If the problem persists, contact us at support@myquietspot.com.

Can't see my starter photo?

  • Make sure you granted photo/camera permissions to the app.
  • Try adding the photo again by tapping "Edit" on the starter detail screen.
